Yesterday, I experienced something that reminded me just how unpredictable life can be. Someone I thought I knew turned out to be someone entirely different—literally.
A fellow coach reached out to me on Instagram Messenger. I have followed this woman on TikTok for years, so I “thought” it was her. As it turned out, she had been hacked and scammed, and someone unbeknownst to me had taken over her Instagram account.
I clicked on something that shared a code, and that was that! I felt awful that I fell for this trap. As we do, we tend to tell ourselves unsupportive things. Speaking to my cell phone representative as he walked me through the process, I realized I was being hard on myself. Have you ever done that? Have you been hard on yourself when something went wrong? Was it the end of the world? No. It did create quite a lot of havoc that needed to be remedied.
As a result, I had to change my phone number. It was one of those moments where you must pause, take a deep breath, and remind yourself that everything happens for a reason.
Now, I could have let this experience get me down. Instead, I chose to see it as a spiritual lesson—a little nudge from the universe, reminding me to stay present, trust my intuition, and find the silver lining, even in unexpected situations.
Lesson Number 1: Listen To Your Gut (Intuition)
One of the first lessons this experience brought to light is the importance of listening to that quiet, inner voice. Our intuition is like a spiritual compass, always guiding us in the right direction. When something feels off, it usually is. This scam was a wake-up call to tune in more deeply to that inner guidance and to trust it, even when it’s just a whisper.
Look For The Blessing
While initially frustrating, changing my phone number turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was a symbolic fresh start—an opportunity to clear out the old and make space for the new. Sometimes, life gives us these little pushes to make changes we might have been avoiding, and I’m learning to embrace them with gratitude.
Lesson Number 2: Respond, Don’t React
But perhaps the most significant lesson here is the reminder that life will always throw curveballs our way. We can’t control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond. By focusing on the silver lining and looking for the lessons in every experience, we reduce our stress and grow stronger, more resilient, and more aligned with our higher purpose.
The Silver Lining
So, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, remember this: the universe is always working in your favor, even when it doesn’t seem like it. Trust the process, look for the silver lining, and know that every challenge is an opportunity for growth and transformation.
